Description

A gloriously illustrated first guide to the weather for ages six and up

Discover how storm clouds form, why we have seasons, how seaweed can tell us what the weather will be, why fish and frogs sometimes fall from the sky, and much more. Cinyee Chiu's charming illustrations are accompanied by carefully written text for young readers by children’s natural history author Camilla de la Bedoyere. This book is split into four clear sections (What Is Weather?, Changing Weather, World Weather, and Extreme Weather) and includes a fun search-and-find element.

About the Author

Camilla de la Bedoyere has a background in zoology and has written more than two hundred books for children and adults, many of which explore the natural world. She has also worked as a journalist, editing a children’s page in a national newspaper, and is a specialist reading teacher. She is a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London.

Cinyee Chiu has an MFA in illustration from Maryland Institute College of Art. Her works appear on book covers and in picture books, animations, board games, and editorial pieces. She's always happy to try new things with the idea of making things pretty, playful, and exciting. She splits her time between Colombia and Taiwan.

Praise For…

The creators capture the beauty and science of weather in this volume. Chiu uses a handwritten and hand-painted style, making the book feel like a field sketchbook, as the artwork identifies and labels different elements found in weather. . . . As we continue to grapple with the climate crisis, this is a reader-friendly, accessible tool to understanding a very big, global concern.
